Freighter Conversion
First freighter conversion for Precision Conversions

In April, HAECO Americas began work on its first Boeing 757 passenger-to-freighter conversion for Precision Conversions in a programme that will include multiple such events over a multi-year period. The first aircraft on the programme will be followed by a succession of aircraft through at least the end of 2016, with increasing volumes expected as the programme progresses. Each conversion will take 95 days and approximately 35,000 man hours to complete at HAECO America’s maintenance facility at Greensboro.

Precision Conversions is a long-term freighter conversion customer of HAECO Xiamen, and the Mainland China MRO’s quality workmanship and timely deliveries along with HAECO America’s vast experience on complex structural modifications convinced the company to allocate this new work to the Greensboro operation. To ensure smooth execution of the programme and to facilitate sharing of best practices, HAECO Hong Kong and HAECO Xiamen both provided technical support prior to and during the first aircraft input - a service enhancement that was greatly appreciated by the customer.
