In July, HAECO Hong Kong played host to 60 young and enthusiastic visitors from 20 different cities across Mainland China.

The young visitors were students participating in the Cathay Pacific Group’s “I Can Fly” summer programme (China intake). The students were given the opportunity to visit various leading organisations in the aviation industry during a four-day visit to Hong Kong - including HAECO’s maintenance base, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair’s headquarters as well as training and cargo operations at Hong Kong International Airport, Chek Lap Kok, and - for the first time - the Hong Kong SAR Government Flying Services facility.

At HAECO, participants were given a hangar tour to learn about aircraft engineering operations, introduced to basic aircraft and aviation knowledge, as well as the rare opportunity to observe an aircraft and its components up-close. HAECO has been a major supporter of Cathay Pacific’s “I Can Fly” programme since its inception.
