Nurturing youth

In July, HAECO Hong Kong played host to more than 60 Mainland Chinese students participating in the Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon 2017 “I Can Fly” Summer Aviation Camp. As an extension to Cathay Pacific’s flagship Hong Kong youth aviation programme, Cathay Dragon’s “I Can Fly” initiative aims to nurture an enthusiasm for aviation and a spirit of social service amongst Mainland students. HAECO has provided full support for this meaningful programme since its launch.

During the five-day event, the Mainland participants were given the opportunity to visit various aviation organisations in Hong Kong. At HAECO, apart from learning about the Group’s comprehensive service offering, the students also gained knowledge of aircraft maintenance by visiting the hangar and support shops, which proved an eye-opening experience for them.

To tie in with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region this year, the programme also included visits to famous sightseeing spots in Hong Kong, offering a chance for the Mainland participants to experience the vitality of the city.
