In December 2018, HAECO Americas sponsored the annual HAECO Invitational Basketball Tournament for the seventh consecutive year. Held in Greensboro, North Carolina, the HAECO Invitational is a high school basketball tournament organised by the Greensboro Sports Council. The tournament raised US$84,000 for local schools and other charities.
Throughout the three-day tournament, an information booth was set up to provide visitors with information about HAECO Americas’ services and career prospects within the aviation industry. The winning and runner-up teams were also invited to celebrate their victories at HAECO Americas’ headquarters in Greensboro, where the company’s senior management - including CEO Richard Kendall, and Chief Human Resources Officer, Andy Halsey - greeted the 70 visitors and introduced them to the company’s facilities, capabilities and job offerings. This was followed by an eye-opening tour of the company’s newest hangar.
HAECO Americas began sponsoring this community event in 2012 and has committed to being the title sponsor through 2020. Since 2012, the tournament has raised over US$724,000 for local charities and participating schools.
