New cabin enhances flying experience

In April, HAECO Cabin Solutions unveiled its brand-new Eclipse Cabin at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg. During the event, HAECO Cabin Solutions also showcased its new Eclipse seat. The launch customer − an as-yet unnamed Middle East airline − will begin flying with the seats in 2020.

The Eclipse Cabin’s innovative layout and design will transform travel in short-haul business class and long-haul premium economy. While overall passenger experience will be elevated by increased privacy and comfort, the design enables passenger numbers to be maximised. The Eclipse Cabin also provides more stowage space for amenities and crew baggage, freeing overhead bin space. The unique advantages of the Eclipse seat, together with the integrated cabin, can allow for an increase in passenger numbers of as much as 14% within the same cabin space.

Customer deliveries will commence in the first quarter of 2020, once the Eclipse Cabin has obtained FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) certification. Discussions with airframers to make the Eclipse Cabin linefit offerable are ongoing. The Eclipse Cabin has already achieved technical viability with Boeing and configurations for the Boeing 737 and 787 are now available.
