Flying safe with HAECO

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, HAECO Hong Kong has extended the line services support we offer to our airline customers, to help them keep their passengers and crews safe from the coronavirus. In May, HAECO launched the FlySafe Cabin Disinfection Programme, which provides enhanced cleaning and sanitising support services to transit flights arriving at Hong Kong International Airport.

 

As a value-added programme in addition to the usual transit clean, the FlySafe Programme offers airline customers three different services, including disinfectant spraying of the passenger cabin, extended cleaning of cockpit and on freighters, and a deep-cleaning service for flights with longer ground time. Airline customers can choose the services that best suit their needs.

 

The most popular service, disinfectant spraying, is conducted prior to normal cleaning routines, to cater to flights with a short ground time. The HAECO Hong Kong Ramp Services team uses disinfectants that are approved as safe for cabin use by Airbus and Boeing. They are used on floors, ceilings and bulkhead surfaces; in the galleys, on passenger tray-tables, countertops, all surfaces in the lavatories and in any other areas that are not easily accessible for manual cleaning.

 

HAECO Hong Kong currently supports over 350 flights a week with the FlySafe programme, including passenger aircraft and freighters. At HAECO, our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our employees and of our customers’ aircrews and passengers as we fight the COVID-19 pandemic together.
