On 10 April, HAECO Xiamen completed its first retrofit cabin modification for Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Lufthansa).
In early 2015, HAECO Xiamen entered into an agreement with Lufthansa to provide retrofit cabin modification services on five Boeing 747-400 aircraft, with an option for a sixth. The work scope of the modification package includes installation of the Zodiac in-flight entertainment (IFE) system RAVE, installation of new lie-flat business class seats, modification of economy class seats with new IFE and PC power; installation of new crew rest compartments, as well as modification of stowage bins to increase capacity.
On completion of the retrofit, Lufthansa’s Boeing 747-400 aircraft will be converted from a three-class configuration to a two-class business/economy layout.
Lufthansa was so impressed by the excellent performance and competitive turnaround time achieved by HAECO Xiamen, the airline confirmed the optional input and added an extra one after redelivery of the first two aircraft.
The commencement of this cabin modification project marks another significant milestone in the business relationship between HAECO Xiamen and Lufthansa. To date, HAECO Xiamen has completed over 200 cabin modification projects for airlines around the world and more than 50 airframe maintenance inputs for Lufthansa.
