In July, UA received its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation of Panasonic Global Communication Suite (GCS) systems on one of its Boeing 777-200 aircraft (N79011). The GCS systems enhance passengers’ in-flight experience by providing satellite Internet connectivity and a wireless local area network.
HAECO was commissioned by UA to carry out the installation of the GCS system and subsequent system tests on the aircraft. In addition, HAECO carried out Nitrogen Generation System (NGS) and T-Chord modifications during this input.
HAECO has already installed GCS systems on UA’s Boeing 747 and 767 fleets and it will perform the modification on the remaining aircraft in the UA Boeing 777-200 fleet.
