Feature
Fully geared up for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

In September, HAECO Group successfully completed its first 2C-Check on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner for a leading international airline customer. It was one of the very first heavy maintenance checks performed on the new generation aircraft type by an independent Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation.

All-round airframe capabilities

Introduction in recent years of new generation aircraft types such as the Dreamliner has been a game-changing event for MRO service providers. Revolutionary technology and materials used on these new aircraft types has required MROs to equip with new technical capabilities, knowledge, tooling and equipment. Globally renowned as an airframe services specialist, having developed extensive capabilities over the years on aircraft ranging from legacy TriStars and Boeing 747s to contemporary wide-body aircraft, HAECO Group has remained at the forefront of the industry in terms of service and technology. In addition to airframe services, HAECO has invested huge resources and effort in building new business areas such as component repair and overhaul and inventory technical management, in order to cater more comprehensively to the needs of its airline customers.

Technical expertise

As airlines begin taking delivery of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, HAECO Group has been preparing its facilities, equipment and technical personnel to embrace this new era in aviation. HAECO Line Services now has the capability to offer full line services for the new aircraft type - including defect rectification, certification and aircraft release - at Hong Kong International Airport and at seven major aviation hubs in Mainland China, including Xiamen, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Nanjing and Chongqing. HAECO Technical Training is also well-equipped to support the Boeing 787 Dreamliner: HAECO is the first MRO and Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisation (AMTO) in China equipped with the Boeing 787 training suite, allowing the Group to provide computer-based training to its own personnel and to third-party customers. Two instructors have been trained and certified by The Boeing Company to conduct aircraft type-training for in-house personnel and for airlines worldwide operating this aircraft type.

Comfort a priority

Meanwhile, HAECO Cabin Solutions is a catalogue-supplier of aircraft seats for the Boeing 787: the FeatherWeight™ 3040 and 3500 series aircraft seats have been manufacturer-approved for line fitting on the Dreamliner and have been well-received by various European and Asian airlines operating the new generation aircraft. To offer more options for airlines and aircraft operators, HAECO Cabin Solutions is currently working on introducing its latest line of sleek economy class seats, the Vector-Y+™, for the Boeing 787.

HAECO is committed to being the partner of choice for airlines seeking world-class aircraft engineering and maintenance solutions and we look forward to supporting a growing number of Boeing 787 fleets.
