In January, HAECO Xiamen delivered the second in-service Cathay Pacific aircraft repainted with the airline’s new livery; the Boeing 747-400ER was the first freighter in the Cathay Pacific fleet to receive the livery refresh.
The HAECO Xiamen team overcame significant challenges to complete the work package, including painting the new gradient-coloured tailfin in record-low winter temperatures. In spite of the difficulties, the project was completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Mr Laszlo Lanyi, Cathay Pacific’s Engineering Manager (Xiamen - Operations) said: “For Cathay Pacific Cargo, this is our first freighter aircraft with the new livery and there is a natural “buzz” around it. Despite all the difficulties encountered, HAECO Xiamen completed the first D check and repainting of this aircraft on time. A big ‘Thank You’ to everybody involved!”
The repainting of Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 747-400ER freighter fleet will continue through 2016, with three more inputs at HAECO Xiamen in the pipeline.
