In June, STAECO passed the required airworthiness audit and obtained maintenance approval certification from the Department of Civil Aviation of Myanmar. The approvals cover base and line maintenance capabilities for aircraft types including the Bombardier Challenger 600 -2B19, 2C10 and Embraer ERJ-190, as well as seat repairs for these aircraft models. To date, STAECO possesses maintenance approvals covering 12 countries and/or regions around the world.
The Myanmar aviation industry is still in its infancy and offers great potential for business development. STAECO’s major customers from Myanmar include the country’s flag carrier, Myanmar Airways International, and FMI Air. For the future, STAECO aims to extend its maintenance approvals to cover other aircraft types, including the Airbus 320, Boeing 737, to achieve further business expansion in Myanmar.
