On 3 June, Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd. (HAESL) held a construction commencement ceremony for its Phase VI extension. Augustus Tang, CEO of HAECO Group and Mr Warren East, CEO of Rolls-Royce, officiated at the ceremony.
The new four-storey, Phase VI building will provide an additional 13,000 square metres of floor space, housing workshops, offices and training facilities. The ground floor of the new building will be connected to HAESL’s main Phase I facility, creating a seamless workshop space for engine overhauls.
A number of environmental features will be incorporated into the new facility, including solar power panels and a green living roof. HAESL aims to complete Phase VI superstructure works by the first quarter of 2017.
