On 2 December 2018, AirAsia celebrated its inaugural flight direct from Krabi, Thailand, to Hong Kong. Ms Celia Lao, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Hong Kong and Macao, was joined by HAECO Hong Kong representatives, including Monna Tsui, Vice President Commercial, Line Services, Jane Chin, Account Manager, Line Services and Lo Chun Ming, Head of Section (Ramp Equipment), at a ceremony held at Hong Kong International Airport’s midfield concourse, to mark this important milestone in the airline’s history.
AirAsia began its services to Hong Kong in 2008, with the first route - Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong - operating seven times a week. Over the years, the airline has gradually expanded its services, introducing flights to Hong Kong from various Southeast Asian cities, including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Manila, Kota Kinabalu and the newly-added Krabi.
As AirAsia’s MRO partner since 2008, HAECO Hong Kong has been providing line services support for the airline’s Airbus A320 fleet, including transit services with mechanic assistance, on-call aircraft transit certification and release services, and ramp services. Looking ahead, HAECO Hong Kong will continue to provide best-in-class line services to support AirAsia’s operational growth.
