In July, HAECO Hong Kong welcomed 66 Mainland students from over 20 cities across China, to take part in the 2019 Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon “I Can Fly” Summer Aviation Camp. The programme aims to nurture enthusiasm for aviation, as well as a spirit of social service amongst young people.
During the four-day event, the youngsters were given the opportunity to visit various aviation organisations in Hong Kong. At HAECO, they were thrilled to learn about aircraft maintenance work processes during a tour of the hangar. They also took the opportunity to visit different workshops in the hangar. In the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Shop, HAECO engineers introduced the students to the special equipment and testing methods used for finding cracks in aircraft components. In the Composite Shop, the visitors were intrigued to see the honeycomb structure of composite components.
As a long-standing service partner of Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon, HAECO has taken pride in supporting this meaningful programme since its launch in 2003.
