A gender-balanced workplace

In October, the HAECO Male Allies organised a Fireside Chat to discuss Diversity and Inclusion. Our panel of distinguished Cantonese speakers included Ms Wendy Chan, Growth Director, Greater Bay Area at Jones Lang LaSalle and Chair of Diversity & Inclusion at JLL Greater China; Mr Frosti Lau, General Manager, Cargo Service Delivery at Cathay Pacific Airways and Co-Chair of The Women Foundation Male Allies Leadership Council, and Ms Carrie Lau, General Manager, Strategic Procurement at HAECO, and Chair of the HAECO Women’s Network.

 

Despite their different career backgrounds, the guest speakers are committed to nurturing a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and eager to share their views on the importance of gender equality and equity, and the need for more gender-balance amongst upcoming talent - particularly in male-dominated industries.

 

“The D&I journey is a marathon rather than a sprint, requiring changes in corporate culture, more education and communication between all stakeholders,” said Raymond Leung, Vice President, Group Commercial (APAC) at HAECO and the Chair of HAECO Male Allies.

 

HAECO embraces diversity and strives to ensure all its staff receive access to the same opportunities. The first online chat in March 2022 was conducted in English. Following the recent Cantonese session, the next Fireside Chat will be held in Mandarin, to ensure we cover the widest audience in our outreach activities.
