HAECO and The Vocational Training Council (VTC) have entered a three-year Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing aircraft maintenance talent for the aviation industry in Hong Kong. The partnership involves HAECO Hong Kong collaborating with VTC to enhance students' knowledge and skills in aircraft maintenance and engineering through the school's Diploma of Vocational Education and Higher Diploma programmes. Both parties are Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department approved training organisations, and their closer cooperation will help students meet the regulatory requirements for a career in the aviation industry.
As part of the agreement, local students will be offered opportunities to visit HAECO’s hangar facilities and learn more about career opportunities in aircraft maintenance and engineering. With Hong Kong opening up to the world again and the airport's three-runway system soon to become fully operational, this collaboration is expected to create a strong pipeline of local talent to support Hong Kong's aviation industry, offering attractive career prospects.
HAECO Hong Kong CEO, Benjamin Scheidel, said he was delighted that HAECO was partnering with VTC on developing learning programmes and activities aimed at sparking the interest of young people in the dynamic field of aircraft maintenance.
