Base Maintenance
Finnair renews maintenance partnership

HAECO Hong Kong has extended its base maintenance support agreement with Finnair to cover the carrier’s Airbus A330 and A350 fleets up to 2026. The partnership, which began in 2008, has seen over 100 maintenance inputs from Finnair to date.

Finnair recently celebrated its 100th anniversary by introducing special Moomin character liveries on two of its Airbus A350 widebody aircraft. The makeover was undertaken by HAECO in Hong Kong, and the aircraft will wear the special livery as they fly their regular long-haul routes for the remainder of the year.

“We value our relationship with HAECO,” said Juha Ojala, Finnair’s Senior Vice President Technical Operations. “The extension of our base maintenance agreement will ensure continued safe and reliable operations for our widebody Airbus fleet. HAECO is a flexible and capable organisation that has shown its ability to adapt to changing business environments. Positive, open dialogue allows productive work to be carried out in cooperation, to our mutual benefit.”

“Finnair is a valued customer, and we are pleased to be able to extend our maintenance support to their A330 and A350 fleet in the coming years”, added Gerald Steinhoff, HAECO’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Our partnership has now moved beyond maintenance services, as Finnair comes on board as a pilot customer for HAECO’s digital transformation programme. We look forward to this exciting collaboration and the opportunity to learn from each other.”

HAECO Hong Kong also partners with HAECO Cabin Solutions to support Finnair’s long-haul Airbus A330 and A350 cabin retrofit programme, which has been ongoing since 2021.
