HAECO takes centre stage at Shanghai’s CIIE and IASC Leadership Summit

HAECO participated in the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) from 5 to 10 November in Shanghai for the first time this year, proudly exhibiting alongside other prominent Swire companies. This year's expo features nearly 3,500 exhibitors from around 130 countries, providing an excellent platform for HAECO to showcase its comprehensive aircraft maintenance capabilities.

A standout feature of HAECO's exhibition is its new maintenance facility at Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2026 and represents HAECO’s most significant infrastructure investment to date. This facility will be the largest single-span maintenance hangar in the world. Visitors are invited to explore a detailed model of this innovative hangar, enhanced by interactive augmented reality (AR) technology that showcases its state-of-the-art features and sustainability solutions.

At the expo, Richard Sell, CEO of HAECO Group, and Summit Chan, Group Director Corporate Development, shared their insights about the event and the company’s future plans, gaining exposure in both print and broadcast media across the Chinese Mainland.

In addition, Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer of HAECO Group, participated in the IASC Leadership Summit, CIIE’s civil aviation component, on 7 November. Speaking at the event for the second year, he joined other big industry names like Airbus, Rolls-Royce and others to discuss the future outlook of the aviation industry.

HAECO's participation in CIIE as part of the Swire Group underscores its commitment to investing in the Chinese Mainland and driving sustainable growth for the global aviation sector. The expo provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with government representatives, customers, and partners, reinforcing HAECO's position as a leader in the aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry on the international stage.
