HAECO’s rich and diverse ethnic fabric is one of the things that makes us a strong company and a great place to work. This great attribute was brought to the fore during Ethnicity Day on 20 – 21 November, when our Ethnicity Network organized a range of activities to celebrate the colorful diversity at HAECO.
Over two days, a fun booth was set up in the canteen of our base maintenance and line maintenance facilities. It featured exhibitions and activities that gave our colleagues a taste of different cultures – quite literally with local snacks from the Philippines, India, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian regions.
Visitors to the booth were also invited to learn simple phrases from six different language cards and explore magazines and videos that highlighted the unique aspects of various ethnic groups in Southeast Asia. This year’s favorites were a world map where our colleagues ‘scratched off’ their homelands, and a “Liveries of the World” guessing game cum lucky draw with prizes!
The HAECO Ethnicity Network in Hong Kong is dedicated to fostering an environment where individuals from all cultures and ethnicities feel empowered to collaborate and contribute. By raising awareness of our rich diversity on Ethnicity Day, HAECO encourages its staff to celebrate their identities while building a friendly culture of mutual respect and inclusion.
