HAECO celebrates first medal for Hong Kong in aircraft maintenance at WorldSkills 2024

HAECO is incredibly proud of Jason Wong, our Junior Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic, for winning the Bronze Medal in Aircraft Maintenance at WorldSkills Lyon 2024! This prestigious event, the largest skills competition in the world, marks a historic achievement for Hong Kong as it is the first time the city has competed in this category against participants from 16 countries and regions.

Jason's journey to success involved six months of intensive training in both technical and soft skills, supported by the Vocational Training Council at various partner campuses and HAECO facilities. After being shortlisted from seven contestants, Jason represented Hong Kong and demonstrated his expertise in five key areas: composite inspection repair, engine inspection rectification, avionic system inspection rectification, metal structure fabrication, and aircraft system inspection line maintenance.

This medal not only highlights HAECO’s reputation in the global aircraft maintenance field but also showcases Jason’s dedication, hard work, and talent. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jason on this remarkable achievement. At HAECO, we are committed to supporting the growth of our colleagues and inspiring them to pursue excellence with pride.
