Celebrating women in aviation on International Women’s Day

Every year on International Women’s Day (IWD), HAECO hosts a series of activities to celebrate the remarkable women leading the way in the aviation industry. This year, we continued our partnership with Cathay Pacific for their International Women’s Day Flight event.

On the evening of March 7, flight CX826 took off from Hong Kong with an all-female crew, including engineers, mechanics, pilots, and cabin staff, transporting passengers safely and efficiently to Toronto, Canada.

A special shout-out to our line maintenance team, led by Mandy Chung (Transit Operations Licensed Engineer), Tim Yin Hung (Transit Operations Lead Aircraft Mechanic), and Tse Yeung Lee (Avionics Lead Aircraft Mechanic). They ensured the flight's successful departure by resolving an unexpected technical issue with the originally scheduled A350 aircraft. Their professionalism and expertise highlight HAECO's commitment to safety and quality, as well as the vital role women play in aviation.

In line with this year’s IWD theme, “Accelerate Action,” which focuses on advancing gender equality, HAECO is dedicated to fostering a workplace where diverse perspectives are celebrated and everyone can thrive. We aim for 30% female representation in senior leadership positions by 2030, ensuring there will be even more inspiring stories to share on IWD each year.
