HAECO was thrilled to support a group of energetic young people as they trained and competed alongside our colleagues in one of the city's biggest sporting events—the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon in February 2025.
In partnership with Teach for Hong Kong, the ‘Run with Youth’ programme featured multiple training sessions that allowed students to work out with our staff. This initiative helped foster strong bonds and encouraged students to explore new possibilities beyond the classroom. After 77 days of training, the students were ready, both mentally and physically, to achieve new milestones at Hong Kong’s largest annual marathon.
“One of our core values at HAECO is sustainable development. This absolutely aligns with how we think, and we think there is so much to be learned through participation in sports,” says Peter Murton, CEO of HAECO Hong Kong.
Sports is a fantastic way for young people to make new friends, share experiences, and engage in healthy competition. The training sessions not only sparked meaningful conversations and bridged generational gaps but also empowered the young participants to pursue their dreams. Our colleagues also gained valuable mentorship and bonding experiences, equipping them to lead future community engagement projects.
