In November 2018, HAECO Hong Kong took part in the Smart Airport – Technovation Conference and Exhibition and received the “Smart Airport Technovation Awards 2018 – Integrated Solution” award, in recognition of its application of innovative technology to improve operational efficiency.

HAECO’s integrated solutions leverage the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile technologies in various areas to streamline work processes. Examples include the use of RFID technology in uniform laundry services and tool and equipment tracking, the application of long-range Wide Area Network (WAN) technology for ground services equipment tracking, and the use of mobile applications to replace the paper-based processing of ramp services in line maintenance. The use of IoT and mobile technology enables HAECO Hong Kong to optimise equipment utilisation, enhance operational efficiency and ensure strict compliance with safety regulations.

Organised by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and now in its fourth year, the annual Smart Airport – Technovation Conference and Exhibition provides an opportunity for airport community members and industry experts to exchange ideas on the latest trends in innovative technology. HAECO Hong Kong was one of 48 exhibitors showcasing the latest smart initiatives for service optimisation and excellence. The two-day event drew 1,300 participants.
