In October, HAECO Hong Kong took home a Gold Award in the “2019 BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards”; the company received the top honour in the awards programme’s “Manufacturing Sector” category. The award marked another milestone in the company’s journey towards environmental sustainability.

Amongst a wide range of green initiatives implemented by HAECO Hong Kong, a recent highlight is the company’s “dry wash” aircraft exterior cleaning service. This eco-friendly technique not only reduces environmental impact by using 90% less water than the traditional “wet wash” method, but also improves operational efficiency by reducing the frequency of wash required.

HAECO Hong Kong continues to reduce its carbon footprint through the implementation of programmes designed to increase energy efficiency, such as the replacement of its freshwater cooled chiller plants with an ultra-high efficiency hybrid power chiller plant and the introduction of a phase change material thermal energy storage system.

Launched in 2015, the BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards aim to promote active participation in environmentally sustainable practices amongst manufacturing and service enterprises in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region. The 2019 award programme saw a record-breaking number of entrants, with over 760 businesses participating.
