HAESL receives first Trent XWB Engine

In March, Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL) received its first Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine. The engine will support the cross-calibration of HAESL’s test cell, marking an important milestone in the company’s progress towards development of full Trent XWB capability. HAESL is on schedule to be equipped with Trent XWB engine overhaul capability by the end of this year, thereby becoming one of only a few overhaul facilities in the Rolls-Royce global network providing Trent XWB engine overhaul services to airlines operating Airbus A350 XWB fleets.

The Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine is the sixth generation of the Trent engine family and the sole engine type powering Airbus A350 XWB aircraft. It is one of the world’s most efficient large civil aero engines and is currently the fastest-selling Trent engine. The development of Trent XWB engine overhaul capability will reinforce HAESL’s position in providing world-leading services and comprehensive engine maintenance solutions to operators of Airbus A350 XWB in the Asia Pacific region.
