STAECO completes lease-return checks

Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (STAECO) recently completed lease-return checks on two Boeing 737-NG aircraft for Shanghai Airlines. The two aircraft were delivered to two new airline purchasers after the checks and entered service immediately.

The lease-return checks for Shanghai Airlines are part of the six-aircraft lease-return check contract that STAECO signed with China Eastern Engineering and Technical Company earlier this year. The contract covers lease-return checks on four aircraft for Shanghai Airlines and checks on two aircraft for China Eastern Airlines. STAECO has already completed checks on the two Boeing 737-NG aircraft for China Eastern Airlines.

To ensure on-time delivery of the aircraft to their new operators, STAECO worked closely with both airlines and carried out detailed preparations, including component replacement, airframe recovery and cabin overhaul. The STAECO team overcame a number of technical difficulties to complete modifications on winglet mountings, Cockpit Door Surveillance Systems (CDSS) and cabin arrangements, in order to fulfil the requirements of the new airline customers and successfully pass airworthiness tests. The remaining two lease-return checks for Shanghai Airlines has commenced in September.
