Caring for wounded veterans

This summer, HAECO Americas helped raise more than US$80,000 for the Purple Heart Homes Piedmont Chapter, an organisation dedicated to providing housing solutions and pathways towards an improved quality of life for disabled veterans of the United States Armed Forces. The fundraising effort collected US$20,000 more than the previous year.

HAECO Americas’ third annual Purple Heart Homes Charity Golf Fundraiser was held on 22 May in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company, along with local businesses and the community, raised funds through the golf tournament, raffle events and other donations. Proceeds will contribute to helping military veterans find homes that meet their needs after a life-changing combat injury, as well as renovating the existing homes of disabled veterans so they can live independently. The funds also enable homeless veterans to stay at two transitional facilities in the area, allowing them to receive rehabilitation, job training and other support they may need.

For HAECO Americas, this annual fundraising event is even more meaningful, as 40% of its workforce is composed of veterans or active military. The company will continue to actively support Purple Heart Homes Piedmont Chapter to bring attention to veterans’ issues in the community.
