On 30 May, Cathay Pacific hosted a launch ceremony at HAECO Hong Kong’s Hangar 2 for its first Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft. The airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Rupert Hogg, was joined by guest of honour Mr Joseph Lai, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport), and more than 120 representatives from local and international media, as well as 300 aviation industry guests, including government officials, the airline’s management team, its business partners, loyal customers and members of the general public.
With a total of 48 A350 aircraft on order, Cathay Pacific has entrusted its A350 aircraft to HAECO for line services support in Hong Kong since its inaugural flight, the MRO is on track to secure the necessary capabilities and approvals to enable it to provide comprehensive airframe, engine services and avionics support to airlines operating Airbus A350 fleets.
