On 29 June, Cathay Pacific hosted a welcoming event at HAECO Hong Kong’s Hangar 2 for the airline’s first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. More than 700 Cathay Pacific employees were thrilled to explore the brand new aircraft, which flew direct to Hong Kong from the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France.
Cathay Pacific currently has 20 A350-1000 aircraft on order. The aircraft can carry a total of 334 passengers, with a fuselage that is seven metres longer than the A350-900 variant, and is line-fitted with 254 Vector Economy seats that are designed and manufactured by HAECO Cabin Solutions.
Cathay Pacific commissioned HAECO Hong Kong to provide airframe services and line services support for the aircraft, including pre-service checks and practical training ahead of its inaugural flight.
With the necessary capabilities and approvals in hand, HAECO Hong Kong is well-prepared to provide comprehensive airframe, line and engine services support to airlines which operate the Airbus A350-1000.
