HAESL opens Phase VI expansion

On 5 December 2018, Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd. (HAESL) held a ceremony to celebrate the official opening of its Phase VI facility. VIP guests including Augustus Tang, CEO of the HAECO Group, and John Slosar, Chairman of Cathay Pacific Airways, together with senior management from Rolls-Royce and HAECO.

 

In 1996, when he was Managing Director of HAECO, Mr Slosar signed the joint venture agreement with Rolls-Royce that established HAESL.

 

Occupying a floor area of 15,000 square metres, the new four-storey Phase VI facility provides an additional 20 engine bays and overhaul workshops to absorb HAESL’s capacity growth. The new facility has capability on all engine types currently serviced by HAESL, including the RB211-524, Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800 and Trent XWB. A range of sustainable features have been incorporated into the construction of the new facility, including solar panels, a living roof and a green wall.

 

The Phase VI expansion has opened a new chapter for HAESL. The enhanced capacity will ensure the company is well-positioned to meet the growing needs of its customers for world-class, timely engine repair and overhaul services into the future.
