With the goal of increasing accessibility in the workplace, HAECO Ability Allies (HAA) was established in June and is working to create a comfortable environment for all, echoing the initiative of HAECO’s parent company, Swire Group.
The newly formed Allies include colleagues from diverse areas of the business, whose aim is to formulate policies that foster equality amongst people with different abilities and to actively promote Diversity & Inclusion values to staff and the wider community. The focus on ability inclusion will initially be centred on Hong Kong but will be gradually expanded to other operating companies. This year, HAA is pursuing disability inclusion in talent recruitment and internet accessibility.
“People with disabilities, mental or physical, are different, not less. We believe that unlocking the unique attributes they offer will help us achieve sustainable long-term business growth. We are committed to fostering ability inclusion at HAECO through a series of upcoming programmes to raise awareness and offer accessibility audits,” said Yina Lee, chairperson of HAECO Ability Allies.
