Nature bathing to improve employee well-being

Spending time in nature’s green surroundings has been proven to reduce stress and improve our overall well-being. Under this context, HAECO CrossGen Allies, a group dedicated to promoting cross-generational bonding, joined hands with a social enterprise in Hong Kong to organise a special Forest Bathing session for our colleagues in January.

The activity, which took place at the beautiful Shing Mun Reservoir, aimed to help participants reconnect with nature and harness nature’s healing powers to reinvigorate their senses. During the 4-hour journey, participants explored the delights of nature with the five senses, enjoyed the melodious sounds of their surroundings, and spent some quiet ‘alone time’ to refocus their attention on their own health and well-being.

The walk reignited our colleagues’ appreciation of nature and reminded them of the need to listen to their physiological and psychological health. It affected a shift in mindset on how we can always look to nature to maintain our overall well-being, even if it’s just stepping into green spaces and looking up at the sky.
