A cherished community: HAECO Hong Kong Veterans Club

Established in 1986, the HAECO Hong Kong Veterans Club has been a cherished community for retired colleagues to socialise, reconnect, and enjoy various activities together. With over 3,000 members, the club fosters a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie among HAECO retirees.

The HAECO Hong Kong Veterans Club was originally proposed by a dedicated trio of retirees - Mr. Lee Ping, Mr. Wong Yeung, and Mr. Tam Woon Check. Their vision came to life when 30 retired colleagues gathered at a Chinese restaurant, setting the foundation for what would become an enduring institution. The club was officially established in September 1986, thanks to the tireless efforts of these pioneering members.

Over the years, a clubhouse has been set up in Hung Hom, serving as a hub for 19 diverse interest groups and classes. Members can enjoy an array of activities, from health checks and birthday parties to singing and indoor photography. These dynamic veterans also actively support HAECO Hong Kong’s annual events, including festive celebrations during Lunar New Year and Christmas as well as our annual dinner.

"The HAECO Veterans Club stands as a testament to the enduring bonds formed during one's professional life, extending well into retirement," said Mr. Tam Woon Cheuk.  "Together, we celebrate the spirit of community and the vibrant legacy that continues to enrich the lives of HAECO retirees."

Looking ahead, the HAECO Hong Kong Veterans Club is set to celebrate its 38th anniversary in October. This milestone underscores the club's enduring legacy and its commitment to connecting retirees, fostering lifelong friendships, and preserving the spirit of the HAECO family across generations.
