Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL) held its second Community Day on 17 January 2025. The event featured 28 activities across a variety of causes, partnering with 22 different NGOs focused on environmental protection, heritage conservation, and support for the elderly, youth, women, individuals in recovery, the underprivileged, and animals.
With the support of 1,141 staff members who contributed a total of 4,564 volunteer hours, HAESL Community Day achieved some fantastic results, including:
- Hiking Trail Clean-up: Collected 34.1 kg of waste from 3 hiking trails.
- Beach Clean-up: Removed 909.5 kg of waste from 9 beaches.
- Soap Cycling: Reprocessed 20 kg of used soap bars and collected 16 liters of liquid soap.
- Food Rescue: Prepared 1,267 boxed meals using 500 kg of vegetables and melons.
- Donations: Gave away 20 phone stands, 25 aroma stones, 30 sets of herb salt, 30 bookmarks, and 100 pencil cases to various beneficiaries.
- Volunteering Activities: Engaged in activities for ethnic minorities, the elderly, and helped at Ronald McDonald House by cleaning kitchen equipment and toys. Staff also sorted and packed donated goods for Crossroads’ warehouse and prepared 100 goodie bags for Lunar New Year.
This annual initiative was a tremendous success, showcasing HAESL’s strong culture of community engagement and demonstrating the positive impact that corporate participation can have on local communities.
